There is a force that inhabits people; a spark that comes from the core. It asks: Why am I here? What is my purpose? Who or what do I serve? What is my connection to the great out there? Some seek their answers in ancient religious texts, others in the Book of Shadows. Some find meaning and purpose in the eyes of their children or the work they do. Others see it in the stars.
Many wander this planet, seeking answers or clues... looking to the Earth, the Heavens, to others, or within. We are looking for some validation that we are connected to something bigger than us (bigger than that which is human). We seek to serve; to leave a mark on this Earth that is more than a notch on a bedpost or balance sheet. We want to leave knowing that our existence had a purpose; that we had a value.
When we tire of seeking answers, we rely on faith. We give in to trusting that perhaps there are planets beyond Pluto... realms beyond reach. We begin to believe that there are reasons for our talents (our gifts) that will never be explained, and we just let those brilliancies blaze anyway, because we know that we’re designed to.
Many great minds have tried to define this intangible force. Others have tried to dismiss it with science and reason, renouncing that which cannot be logically or objectively explained. Spirituality, with no conclusive definition, has become an infinitely subjective, personal, and individualistic concept. Dictionaries use words like sacred, moral, holy, and divine to define spirituality. These words only add more confusion and ambiguity.
Spirituality is a connection to a force larger than life that drives us. From it, we find our purpose. From it, we are given meaning. It is the light that burns like fire inside of us, giving us goodness. It gives us hope when we need hope. It gives us strength when we need strength. It gives us direction when we need direction.
An important piece of finding balance is having a spiritual connection. The Crown Chakra exists to honor that connection. It is the capstone of the energetic system, and the end- point that we all move toward when we are seeking wholeness. In other words, the purpose of becoming balanced and whole is to create a space for healthy flow of energy to the Crown Chakra, and thus a healthy flow of energy to devote to spiritual connectedness. Yet so many people are unable to articulate their definition of spirituality, or describe what it means to them; and it is difficult to move toward something when we aren’t sure what it is. For me, spirituality is connection to my God. It is not about connection to religion because I am not guided by religion; I am guided by my faith in God, and trust that He has given me purpose on this Earth.
When you have a spiritual connection and your crown chakra is open, your creative energy is able to access Divine inspiration. Divine inspiration enables the most epic of creations. Most of us only create a handful of these in our lifetime. We have those "moments" when our best work comes out of us... and we wonder where it came from. It outshines and is unlike anything else that we've creatively birthed.
If you’ve not yet considered (or articulated) your definition of spirituality or thought about what your spiritual journey entails, I encourage you to begin having those conversations with yourself. I encourage you to clarify (at least to yourself) what your spiritual beliefs are and begin thinking about how you will work to deepen your spiritual connection.
